Introducing The North East Games
The North East Games, formerly known as the North East Olympic Games (NEOG), are a multi-sport event held in Northeast India. Originally set to be hosted by Arunachal Pradesh, the pandemic delayed the event until 2020, and Meghalaya took the responsibility to make a statement two years later.
The 2022 North East Olympic Games (2022 NEOG) were the second edition of the North East Olympic Games. Over 3,000 competitors participated in 18 Olympic events. Manipur won the most medals at the event, with 237 medals, and 85 of them were gold medals. Manipur became the champion in the three consecutive years of the 2018, 2022, and 2024 Northeast Games.
History
Manipur has won the most medals in the first two editions. In the third edition, Assam won the most medals, and Manipur was declared the overall champion as they bagged the most gold medals.
