Introduction
Cricket is a popular game that is played all over the world with a bat and a ball on a playground field with the sets of three stumps in two opposite sides i.e. wickets, from the batsmen side where the opposite team tries to stop them by getting the batsman out with the ball. This game is played by two teams, one is playing offense called batting and other is defense called fielding. These two team played with 11 players each. The batting team sends two batsman onto the field , who take turns hitting the ball bowled by opposing team’s bowler. The batsmen score runs by running between the wicket or hitting outside the boundaries i.e. four runs and six runs. The fielding team tries to get the batsmen out by catching the ball, hitting the wicket or running them out. The teams switch roles after a set of six balls completed.
Cricket In India
Cricket is such a game which is most popular in India and it is known to everyone of any age either it is kids or any old. In India it is played almost everywhere. Indian people have a great craze for cricket. Also, cricket tournaments, T-20, World Cup, IPL(Indian Premier League) are celebrated as a festival in India. Recently, India has wins a World Cup 2024, which was held in South Africa. It was a great victory of India and a memorable moment for all Indians. The Indian cricket players never miss an opportunity to impress us with their outstanding performances. Whenever India wins the match outside the country, the players are welcomed with great energy and happiness by the Indian people. Also the Indian cricketers are not at all less treated than the celebrities.
Women’s Cricket
Nowadays, women played a very important role in sports. Women are also doing very well in every field like sports, business, politics, etc.. So, women have also started playing cricket and also showing their great performances in the cricket world, they are playing tournament, T-20 world cup as well as men’s cricket .
If we talked about Indian women’s cricket, so they are doing great in the cricket field and make their country to feel proud. Women Cricket Associations of India was formed in 1973. The Indian women’s cricket team played their first match against West Indies in 1976 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. The first test victory of women’s cricket came two years later against the same opponent they debuted at the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna. The first tournament of ICC World Cup was held in England, in 1973. The first match was won by England.
The women’s Cricket World Cup is the international championship of women’s One Day International(ODI) cricket. This tournament is organized by the ICC (International Cricket Council) and has been held every four years, since 1973.

Women’s cricket is an encouragement and motivation for all the women who wants to play and have a great interest in sports. This is also the way to promote women’s sports in a country and help them to find opportunities to show their skills and interests towards sports.
