Introduction

The ASSAM FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION (AFA) has a rich history in Indian football. It is the governing body of football in the state of Assam. It was established in 1947 and is one of the oldest football associations in the country. The AFA has been instrumental in promoting and developing football in the state . The Assam Football Association has organized various tournaments, leagues, and development programs to nurture young talent and promote the sport at the grassroots level.

Naba Kumar Doley is in charge of the current president, and Dr. Sangrang Brahma is the secretary of the Assam Football Association. The AFA conducts inter-district football tournaments of various age groups for men and women as well as divisional football leagues in the state.
